Kiss!

Here in Northern Minnesota, January is pretty typically a frigid and dreary month. We have had frigid, and we have had quite unseasonably warm weather. Totally weird! When it gets to 40° F in January here, that is a record! Really. And talking about the weather is a big deal here too. Why am I talking about the weather? Well, the cold and frigid weather always makes me want to pull out the pastels and the bright, sunshine-y colors. J As I type this, I am sitting in my hubby’s truck as we drive to my oldest son’s house, where we will get to see our grandson. It is grey and foggy and quite lacking in color.

I wanted to play with some sweet In-Colors for this card, do the Colour Inkspiration Challenge was perfect for this card! And I am perpetually amazed at how well the Copper embossing powder seems to go with absolutely every color of ink! Here is how I created this card:
  1. Cut a piece of watercolor paper to 4¼”x5½”, tape to a board with painters tape. Either squeeze the lid, or put a drop of reinker into the lid of Sweet Sugarplum, Watermelon Wonder, and Peekaboo Peach, then dilute with a little water from your Aqua-painter.
  2. Apply a wash of clean water to the entire watercolor panel with, then pick up some Sweet Sugarplum with your Aquapainter and apply to the bottom portion of the watercolor. Wipe the color off the Aquapainter to switch to the Watercolor Wonder and apply to the center of the card, overlapping a little with the Sweet Sugarplum. Repeat with the Peekaboo Peach. Either air dry, or use the heat tool to dry the panel (I used the heat tool).
  3. Remove watercolor panel from board, wipe with Embossing Buddy, then stamp sentiment with Versamark ink, heat emboss with Copper embossing powder.
  4. Stamp the lips image in Watermelon Wonder below the sentiment.
  5. Stitch around the panel with sewing machine and white thread. Adhere to Thick Whisper White card base with Fast Fuse.
  6. Inside the card, ink the lips and stamp off once for each color, then stamp the sentiment in Archival Black ink. All done!
I love these lips! They are just so cute 😍

I do have the watercolor panel popped up on coasters here, but you certainly wouldn't have to do that.

Once I got started with this stamp set, I couldn't stop! I have one more set of projects with this set coming up. Here is a recap of what I have shared so far:
